I have recieved personal requests that I just go ahead and update the AMF website with different dates. I would rather listen to people's comments before making any changes. (I don't recall setting any dates on the website for 2008, and several people are able to update the site, so let's not dwell on how or why the current dates got set to mid-July.) Currently the AMF website shows dates in mid July. IMHO this is way to late for AMF as most forests will have 'extream' fire danger status by this time of the year. AMF11/2007 was in a location that was upgraded to 'extream' fire danger by the end of the 10 days. This caused us to pull out on the last day, July 4th, instead of staying a few more days. This experience indicates that any dates ending in July are probably bit to late.
